Frequently asked questions
General
Unlike generic exercise libraries, Askisa uses your own recordings. Exercises are filmed with the patient during the session, reflecting their exact execution, adaptations, and cues. This increases understanding, confidence, and adherence while reducing misunderstandings at home.
All exercises are selected and prescribed solely by the treating professional, based on their clinical expertise. Askisa functions exclusively as a technical platform for recording and providing access to these exercises and does not influence clinical decisions.
Askisa is GDPR-compliant and hosted on EU-based servers. Videos are not publicly shared and are only accessible to the assigned patient on their phone. Patient consent and clinical responsibility remain with the therapist.
Askisa is designed to work during the session—not after. Exercises are recorded, organized, and assigned in real time, reducing documentation effort, follow-up explanations, and repeated demonstrations in later appointments.
The physio code connects a patient with their physiotherapist in Askisa.
For physiotherapists:
When you sign up for Askisa, you create your unique physio code. This code allows your patients to connect directly with you in the system.
For patients:
When signing up for the Askisa app, simply enter thephysio code provided by your physiotherapist. This links your account to your therapist.
What happens after connecting?
Once the code is entered:
• Your name and exercise information appear in the physiotherapist’s dashboard. (not the videos)
Patient completion & privacy
When a physiotherapist marks a patient as completed in the dashboard:
• Access to the training content in the patient app becomes restricted.
• The videos and exercise content are removed from the patient’s app.
• The physio code becomes available again so the physiotherapist can use it for a new patient.
•
This system allows physiotherapists to easily manage their patients while keeping exercise programs secure and personalized.
No. Physiotherapists do not need the patient app.
All therapist functions are managed through the Askisa dashboard, which is a web application. The dashboard runs online and can be accessed from any computer, tablet, or device with a browser.
Inside the dashboard, physiotherapists can:
• create and manage patient profiles
• record exercises during a session
• add instructions and cues
• structure exercises into training plans
• monitor and manage their patients
The Askisa mobile app is designed exclusively for patients. On their phone, patients can access their personal exercise videos and training plans, allowing them to continue their therapy exercises correctly at home.
